Dr. Hines’ approach to

restoring your mobility

At Hines Orthopedics, care starts with a conversation—not a chart. We take time to understand your story, your work, and what matters most to you before mapping out a clear, personalized plan for recovery. From your first exam to your final follow-up, every step is built on trust and local care that keeps you close to home.

The approach

Listen & Examine
We sit down, hear your full story—farm work, Friday night lights, or trouble with the stairs—then do a thorough hands-on exam. No rush, no strangers. You leave knowing exactly what’s wrong.

01

Explain & Plan Together
Dr. Hines talks straight with you, no confusing medical talk, so you clearly understand every option: therapy, a brace, injections, or surgery—and you choose what feels right.

02

Treat Local, Your Choice
From X-rays next door to surgery at the in-town hospital or your pick of trusted centers in the valley—plus rehab with therapists who know our fields and teams. We’re with you until you’re back 100%.

Dr. Jerod Hines, MD

Dr. Jerod Hines is proud to continue serving the Gem County community through his new independent clinic, Hines Orthopedic & Sports Medicine, opening in early 2026. Born and raised in southeast Idaho, Dr. Hines earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency and Sports Medicine Fellowship at McGill University’s Department of Orthopedics in Montréal, Canada. Before entering private practice, he served as a VISTA volunteer in Lowell, Massachusetts and as a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy Reserves for eight years.

He was previously the Director of Valor Health’s Sports Medicine program, and you can usually find him on the sidelines of many Emmett Huskies sporting events as he is very involved with supporting Emmett athletics. He welcomes all of his current and future patients to join him at his new clinic in Emmett.

Dr. Hines and his wife are proud to raise their blended family in Emmett, where their youngest attends local schools. They enjoy spending time outdoors, supporting local events, and staying active in the community they love.

Getting you back in the game

What Is Sports Medicine?

Sports medicine is all about helping active people recover, stay strong, and perform at their best — whether that means getting back on the field, the court, or back to work. Our team provides expert care for athletes of all ages, as well as for everyday workers who rely on their bodies to get the job done.

We treat and help prevent injuries from sports, exercise, and physically demanding work. From sprains and strains to joint pain and overuse injuries, we focus on getting you back to doing what you love safely and confidently.

Here in our community, staying active is part of who we are — and when injury happens, you don’t have to sit on the sidelines for long. Our knowledgeable team combines medical expertise with a personal touch to keep you moving forward, both in sport and in life.

As an orthopedic surgeon, I specialize in the management and surgical treatment of shoulder, elbow, and sports medicine conditions, consistently supported by cutting-edge musculoskeletal research and patient-focused outcomes.

If you are struggling to compete at your highest level or have experienced a setback, injury. Let’s get you back into the game. *Dr. Hines will be seeing patients in his new clinic starting in January 2026.

Life changing stories,
from the people themselves.

Total Knee Surgery

Back Doing What You Love, Faster

Dr. Hines uses modern techniques so most patients walk the same day and go home in 1-2 nights. You choose the hospital that works best for you, then rehab with local therapists who know our farms and teams. Swap constant pain for a reliable knee that keeps up with planting, harvesting, coaching, or cheering from the bleachers.

Total Hip Surgery

Move Without the Ache

Dr. Hines uses up-to-date hip replacement methods so most patients walk the same day and head home in 1-2 nights. You pick the hospital that fits your family best, then rehab with local therapists who understand farm work and Friday night sidelines. Ditch the limp and sharp pain for a hip that lets you climb, combine steps, chase grandkids, or coach from the fence line again.

Rotator Cuff Surgery

Lift, Throw, and Work Pain-Free Again

Dr. Hines uses minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques for smaller incisions, less pain, and quicker return to action. Most patients go home the same day. You choose the hospital that suits you best, then rehab with local therapists who know pitching motions and hay-bale tosses. Fix that tear for good—get back to throwing touchdowns, swinging a hammer, or hugging the grandkids without wincing.
