As a Board Certified Orthodontist, Dr. Hines is well respected in the dental community. He has published several articles relating to orthodontics and is an assistant professor of orthodontics at the Augusta University, Dental College of Georgia (formally Medical College of Georgia).
"Growing up in a family with a father who was an orthodontist and grandfather that was a general dentist you could say dentistry runs in my blood. My main focus through high school and college was to study hard and join my fathers practice in orthodontics. The one thing I enjoy the most about being an orthodontist is the way it transforms a persons face. It can completely change a persons perspective of their self."
Dr. Hines has degrees from the University of South Carolina (BS in Chemistry), the Medical University of South Carolina (D.M.D.), and Georgetown University where I earned a Masters Degree in Orthodontics.
Dr. Hines has served as President of the South Carolina Orthodontist Association, Central District Dental Society and South Carolina Children’s Dental Society. As a member of many orthodontist and dental associations he serves on various committees. Memberships include:
Dr. Hines is active or has been active in many civic organizations including the Boy Scouts of America, Children's Dental Clinic operated by United Way. Also the Rotary Clubs of Lexington, Baterburg-Leesville and Twin City.
